A mentor. A friend. A guiding light.

The Guiding Light Cremation Services was inspired by the compassion, vision, and generosity of Luis Diaz — a man whose guidance helped turn a dream into reality


With more than 30 years in the funeral profession, Luis dedicated his life to serving families with dignity, humility, and heart. Alongside his brothers, he helped build Day & Night Removals and Cremation through hard work, sacrifice, and unwavering determination.


But beyond everything he built professionally, what made Luis truly special was the way he believed in people.


For several years, we spoke about creating something meaningful — something built not only to serve families today, but to continue helping people long after we are gone. Luis often reminded us to build something that would leave light behind for others.


Those words became part of the heart behind The Guiding Light Cremation Services.


The name itself — The Guiding Light, La Luz Que Guía — reflected the kind of person Luis was. He believed in guiding others with compassion, helping without expecting anything in return, and treating every family with genuine care during life's most difficult moments.


Throughout this journey, Luis shared his wisdom, encouragement, and support wholeheartedly. From the earliest conversations and long days of preparation, to the moment we received our funeral establishment license, FD 2555, he stood beside us believing in the vision every step of the way.


Before his passing, he was able to witness the beginning of that dream becoming reality — including the first brochure for The Guiding Light Cremation Services — a memory that will forever remain close to our hearts.


One of the hardest moments for us was handling our very first case without him physically by our side. After years of building this vision together, we wished he could have been there standing with us in that moment.


But in our hearts, we know he was.


Today, his spirit continues to live through every family we serve, every life we honor, and every moment of compassion we are privileged to give.
